Stephanie Alexander launches new book, new servingware

Stephanie Alexander

The Cook's Apprentice

Stephanie Alexander's new book The Cook's Apprentice has been released on 1 October.

This is the culinary icon and friend of Albi's eighteenth book, and is intended for the younger cook who’s just starting out.

"I had a teenager in my mind as I wrote," Stephanie says, "but various grandparents have assured me the book will be perfect for their grandchildren of many differing ages."

Arranged alphabetically, The Cook’s Apprentice covers apples to zucchini – with more than 300 achievable recipes ranging from classics to  dishes that reflect our diverse nation. To find the book, visit Penguin.

This is a particularly busy time for Stephanie, as Albi is thrilled to launch two new collections in Stephanie's signature range.

Portarlington is where many of Victoria's famed blue mussels come from. With a bowl of salad, a loaf of crusty bread and a bottle of wine, mussels are a satisfying and simple summer meals. Stephanie's new Portarlington range includes enamel mussel pots, storage tins and servingware.

Also new this season are Stephanie's bamboo fibre servingware pieces, decorated with beautiful waratah and banksia illustrations. These bowls, plates, cups, jugs and trays are perfect for entertaining in the sun. Their design pays homage to the charm of Australian native flora.
